In our approach to design, we focus on harmony between the outside and the inside, as we believe that outdoor spaces are a natural extension of living.

And just as in interior design, outdoor lighting plays a crucial role in shaping the atmosphere and overall experience of spaces.

First of all, we carry out a careful analysis of the context, studying the topography of the terrain, the layout of architectural elements and the vegetation present. This initial phase is crucial in identifying the key areas in which to place lighting points, such as pathways, seating areas, focal points and landscape elements.

  1. Architectural lights

In the lighting design of one's garden, the use of both architectural lighting and decorative lighting can help create a complete and fascinating ambience. Architectural lights focus on enhancing the structural and architectural elements of the outdoor area. These lights are usually installed in an unobtrusive manner and aim to emphasise the lines and shapes of the architecture, helping to create an extraordinary setting of light and shadow. Architectural lighting is ideal for highlighting the distinctive features of the house or surrounding buildings and for extending the aesthetic appearance of the environment even at night.

  1. Decorative lights

On the other hand, decorative lights add a touch of personality and warmth to the garden, creating cosy and intimate atmospheres. These lights are often characterised by original and creative designs, and can be used to create focal points, illuminate pathways and walkways, or add a touch of magic to natural elements such as trees or shrubs. Decorative lights are versatile and allow you to experiment with different light intensities and colours, making it easy to adapt the ambience to the desired occasions and emotions.

Once the objectives and requirements of the project have been defined, we move on to selecting the types of light points to be used.

  1. LED

LEDs are an increasingly popular choice for outdoor lighting due to their energy efficiency, durability and versatility. They are mainly used to create extraordinary lighting effects along pathways or to emphasise architectural elements such as walls or steps.

  1. Recessed, floor or wall spotlights

To illuminate specific parts of the garden, such as trees, shrubs or sculptures, recessed or floor spotlights can be the ideal solution. These luminaires are strategically placed in the ground or on low walls to project beams of light upwards, creating evocative atmospheres and enhancing landscape details.

They are also a perfect wall solution, used to illuminate the exterior walls of the house or other structures, highlighting vertical surfaces and creating a profound sense of depth and dimension.

To ensure the best results in our realisations, we collaborate with the best outdoor lighting brands in the industry. This includes Flos, synonymous with elegance and innovation, with a selection of outdoor lighting fixtures that stand out for their contemporary and refined design. The combination of cutting-edge technology and artistic creativity allows for surprising lighting effects, transforming spaces into true scenes of beauty.

 5. Floor lamps

Floor lamps are perfect for illuminating pathways or creating a diffuse and homogenous light. Placed along pathways or next to seating areas, these lamps provide functional and welcoming lighting, ideal for creating a pleasant ambience in which to spend evenings outdoors.

  • Thanks to Platek, a brand known for its innovation and quality, the Mesh floor lamp, with its refined design and cutting-edge technology, is an ideal solution to elegantly illuminate gardens, terraces and pathways, transforming outdoor environments into real scenes of luminous beauty.

  • Poltrona Frau, with its important background in the design and furnishing sector, offers lighting solutions that harmoniously integrate lighting into outdoor furniture elements. Such as the Sparkler lamp that stands out for its articulated structure, made with a painted aluminium frame on which a rope is hand woven, confirming the high quality and precision craftsmanship of the brand.

       6. Decorative lanterns

Without a doubt, outdoor lanterns are a charming and elegant addition to any outdoor lighting project. Renowned brands such as Gandia Blasco offer a wide range of lanterns with refined and contemporary designs that add a unique touch of style to gardens, courtyards and outdoor spaces in general.

The use of Fez lanterns adds a touch of warmth and romance to the ambience, helping to create an intimate and cosy atmosphere. Whether it is a romantic dinner under the stars or an evening out with friends, lanterns provide soft, enveloping light, creating a feeling of magic and comfort.

Another key element is adjusting the intensity of the lights according to the phase of the day. We recognise that the different times of day require appropriate lighting to create unique atmospheres and make the most of outdoor spaces.

During daylight hours, architectural lights can be set to a lower intensity to allow natural light to shine through and highlight the architectural features of the garden. At the same time, decorative lights can be switched off or gently used to add lighting details to accentuate the landscape.

As the sun goes down and the evening progresses, we will gradually increase the intensity of the architectural lights to create a captivating effect of light and shadow, highlighting architectural details and adding depth and warmth to the ambience. Decorative lights, on the other hand, will be gradually intensified to create an intimate and cosy atmosphere, ideal for outdoor evenings.

When night comes, we focus on decorative lighting to create a magical and atmospheric experience. The intensity of architectural lights can be adjusted to provide discreet and functional accompanying light, while decorative lights are used to create points of interest and to emphasise the beauty of the garden.

The flexibility to adapt the intensity of lights according to the phase of the day not only contributes to a more engaging and immersive experience for inhabitants and guests, but also saves energy and optimises the use of lighting resources. This careful management of lighting allows us to realise complete outdoor lighting projects, capable of transforming the garden into an oasis of light, beauty and comfort, adapting to the different needs and atmospheres that the day offers.
